Join us for an intimate and exclusive hands-on ultrasound workshop focused on advanced imaging techniques for endometriosis diagnosis. Led by renowned experts, Prof George Condous and Dr Mathew Leonardi, with Prof Gabor Szabo and Prof Ligita Jokubkiene as facilitators, this interactive session will provide participants with a unique opportunity to enhance their scanning skills using real patient cases and the latest ultrasound technology across four stations covering different topics by different proctors.

Professor Neil Johnson
Neil is a New Zealand gynaecologist and REI subspecialist in a practice with Auckland Gynaecology Group and Repromed Auckland. He is also medical director at Flinders Fertility, Adelaide, South Australia. Neil is professor of O&G at Flinders University and adjunct professor at the University of Adelaide, serves on the board of ASPIRE, was inaugural chairperson of the ASPIRE endometriosis special interest group and is a past president of the World Endometriosis Society.
Professor Jason Abbott
Dr Jason Abbott Professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of New South Wales. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, has supervised more than 40 students through higher research degrees and garnered more than $20million in research funding. He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynaecology, is the chair of the National Endometriosis Clinical and Scientific Trials (NECST) Network, Australia and directs the GRACE research group and is a member of the Endometriosis advisory group to the Australian government.
Professor Rebecca Deans
Assoc. Prof. Rebecca Deans is an internationally recognised researcher in
the surgical management of benign gynaecology and endometriosis and has a
special interest in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. Day to day, she
works as a gynaecologist at The Royal Hospital for Women, as Fertility
Specialist at the RHW Fertility Research Centre, is the only paediatric and
adolescent gynaecologist at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, and is an
Associate Professor at UNSW School of Women's & Children's Health.
Among Assoc. Prof. Deans’ many accomplishments are over 60 peer reviewed
publications in leading national and international publications, 5 book
chapters and over 20 research papers. Assoc. Prof. Deans is an experienced
and prize-winning university lecturer, convening courses in Paediatric and
Adolescent Gynaecology and is passionate about disseminating knowledge to
other medical practitioners and the wider community. She has also been
invited to present 14 times at national and international meetings.
Assoc. Prof. Deans has worked with international leaders to establish
protocols and is the lead researcher of a collaborative uterine transplant
project. In January 2023 Dr Deans and her team performed the first
Australian uterine transplant at the Royal Hospital for Women. This
culminated in a live birth on 15 December 2023. Two further uterus
transplants were performed in that year with another live birth to the
second transplant recipient on 29 March 2024. In 2023 Assoc. Prof. Deans was
awarded NSW Woman of Excellence for her work in women’s health.
Professor Juan Garcia Velasco
Juan García-Velasco, MD, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer or IVI RMA Global
and Director of IVI RMA Madrid, where he attends his patients. He is also
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Rey Juan Carlos University,
Madrid, Spain, where he is Director of their Master’s Degree Programme in
Human Reproduction.
Professor García-Velasco graduated from University Medical School, Madrid,
in 1990 and received his obstetrics and gynaecology certification from La
Paz Hospital, Madrid, in 1995. He completed his PhD in Medicine at Autonoma
University, Madrid, in 1995, and from 1997 to 1998 studied at Yale
University, New Haven, CT, under a Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility Fellowship.
Professor García-Velasco’s main research interests have been in IVF and
endometriosis. He is the Principal Investigator of projects funded by the
Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health in Spain, and has received
awards from the Spanish Fertility Society, Spanish Society of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology, and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles He is the Co-Editor in
Chief of Reproductive Biomedicine Online.

Professor Dr Mauricio Simões Abrão
Graduated in Medicine at the University of Santo Amaro (1985), residence in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of São Paulo Medical School (1986-1988), PhD in Gynecology, University of São Paulo Medical School (1996). Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMUSP. Chair, of the Endometriosis Division, University of São Paulo Medical School. Chair of Gynecology and the Center of Advance Gynecologic Surgery at Hospital BP - A Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo. Past President, AAGL.
Dr. Sun-Wei Guo
Professor Guo received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1991. He worked at University of Michigan and University of Minnesota before becoming a tenured full Professor at Medical College of Wisconsin. After serving a three-year term directorship at the Institute of Obstetric and Gynecologic Research, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he has been Professor of Gynecology at Shanghai OB/GYN Hospital, Fudan University, since 2010. He also is Adjunct Professor at the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, Michigan State University, USA. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the World Endometriosis Society (WES), the Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD), and a member of the WHO Expert Working Groups (EWG3A). He is the founder, past president, and board member of the Asian Society of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis (ASEA). He has served as an Associated Editor for Human Reproduction Update, Human Reproduction and several other journals. Currently he is a member of the Advisory Board on Trends in Molecular Medicine, serves as co-Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders, and as Associate Editor/Editorial Board member for several other international journals. He also sits on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, Heranova Lifesciences, FIMMCYTE AG, and E3A Healthcare. His main research focuses on in endometriosis and adenomyosis, and has been ranked by Stanford University as one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists.
Doctor Yuval Kaufman
Doctor Yuval Kaufman is a Senior Consultant, Head of the Multidisciplinary Center for the Treatment of Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynecology at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Carmel and Lin Medical Centers in Haifa, Israel. He is a Cum Laude Alumni of the Technion Israel Institute for Technology (Technion ITT). Doctor Kaufman did his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in Carmel Medical Center. Following his residency he completed a full fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery with at the Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery (CARE) in Sydney, Australia. He then completed another fellowship in Gyneoncological Laparoscopy at the University of Tuebingen affiliated Women’s Hospital in Germany (Frauenklinik, UKT, Tuebingen). Doctor Kaufman serves as a board member at the Asian Society for Endometriosis & Adenomyosis (ASEA) and a board member at Endo-Israel, the Israeli Endometriosis Patient Society. He is a principal investigator and partner for several research initiatives and a consultant for several medical start-up companies including Ark Surgical, Gynica, Foraviset and Endotend.
